As the warm summer weather begins to fade, now is the perfect time to consider the best décor for cozying up indoors.

Here are a few of our favorite ways to “fall” into your Destin home this season:

Bring your home alive with nature. Seasonal plants add warmth and liveliness to any space. Fall flower arrangements in shades of orange, burgundy, purple, pale pink and yellow are an instant way to give your home a seasonal update. If you are looking for something less “autumn-y”, remember that you can also implement the fall blues!  Not a DIYer? Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, Harry & David and other retailers offer cool-weather floral pairings for any room in your home.

Personalize your space. Incorporate items that are special to you to create a one-of-a kind fall look. Drape your favorite glen plaid throw over the arm of a recliner. Use fragrant diffusers, scented candles, potpourri, and essential oils to infuse your home with delicious scents. Fall linens like dish towels, table runners and napkins add a nice pop of seasonal color to any kitchen. For an easy refresh, swap out your area rugs. Check out Williams Sonoma, Urban Outfitters, Gilt Home and West Elm for these items and more.

Add texture. Adding in cozy covers can instantly create “just right” comfort for the shifting temperatures. Design experts recommend using textural throws, layered area rugs, and chunky, oversized knit pillows as a great way to accomplish a warm and stylish indoor vibe. And for color? The experts say go for a monochromatic palette mixed with soft muted creams and whites. Use layered lighting to change the intensity of a room. Crate & Barrel, Restoration Hardware, and Ethan Allen, among others offer a great variety of seasonal textured home accessories.

Warm Up the Walls. Paint color, seasonal artwork and additional wall décor can add sizzle to your fall home design. Fall room décor hues range from brown to orange to blue. Design experts say pumpkin orange, mustard yellow, tangerine, and light brown pairings are ideal for creating a fall-influenced color scheme for your home and can be easily complemented by earthy tones like emerald green, taupe, white or chestnut.
